Cindy was released from the UNM hospital on Friday evening after receiving all of her chemotherapy. Praise God she did not have an allergic reaction and she seemed to tolerate the addition of the new drug just fine. Thank you again for your wonderful prayers. Cindy has completed the first half of the fourth round of chemotherapy. (I hope that communicates!) She will be infused with another drug on Thursday to complete round four. There are only two rounds to go before we check our progress with another CAT scan. This week Cindy has felt very tired and depleted. She has not, however, felt as nauseous and for that we give God praise.

Cindy still spends most of her time at the Brazell's but occasionally is able to come home. The boys and I miss her terribly but we know this separation is only for a short while and is best for her healing right now. She is making miraculous progress and we know God is glorified through everything. Cindy's weight and strength is a constant concern. After this last round of chemo she has again lost some weight. Please be in prayer for her overall health and strength. Many of you know from experience that Chemotherapy really takes it out of you. I am so grateful for the way you all are partnering with us in prayer. (Col. 4:12) We continued to be encouraged that many hundreds of you are remembering us before the throne of God everyday. Amen!

Have a blessed day!

Kevin

Thanks for the updates. It really is a small world. When I put Cindy on our prayer request page at Waverly (TN) our minister ask who had put her on there. Our minister is Jeff Keele. I believe Jeff was a youth minister at Walnut Street when Cindy's dad preached there. Anyway, Cindy and the whole family is remembered very often at Waverly by several families! Thanks for all the updates. I check every day and most days several times a day. I rarely think to call the pager but I pray for you guys often. I hope that you are printing and saving all the blogs and comments. I've gone back and read everything from the beginning. What an inspirational journey you guys have undergone. We're not dealing with any cancer in our family just now but I still have received so much encouragement from all that you have posted. My prayer today besided the specific needs that were posted is for your family to find joy in each day and peace of mind for each of your boys. God bless you.

Debbie,

Thanks so much for praying that we will find joy. I must confess that today I have really struggled with just that. Then I went to pick up my four-year-old early from his after school program at our Christian school. When I saw him sleeping on his mat like a little cherub with rosey cheeks and blonde hair, I was filled with an almost indescribeable peace and joy. Your prayers are truly sustaining us today! God bless you.

We are continuing to pray for Cindy and your family. We love you both so much. It's good to hear that the nausea has lessened some. We pray for continued strength and courage, knowing that we are Richly Blessed and HE hears our prayers.

Cindy and Kevin,
I keep hearing the scripture from James - Consider it all JOY when you encounter trials..... It's hard to put a definition to "JOY" - we talked about it in our class recently! Joy to me is the deep abiding certainty that God is and does abide in us,loves us, cares for us, and wants us! That JOY is a part of our daily walk - I see it in yours and Cindys walk - it strengthens all of us to witness it. Stay strong! We love you! Sharon and Hoyt Roberson

This time in your life must seem like a VERY bad dream! We can't even imagine what you must be thinking and going through and how much and how earnestly you must be praying for a positive outcome. But...this too shall pass and we look forward to the day when Cindy will be home with you and the boys and back at church on Sundays...teaching and leading! We KNOW that God has something special planned for you...the lessons you are learning have already filtered down to us who are blessed to have you as our minister. You seem more compassionate, more focused, more alert and more experienced than ever before, Kevin. And...to be sure, Cindy is also learning lessons that will benefit all of us as well. We continue to pray for her strengh and good reports and especially for Cindy to be CONFIDENT in God's love and mercy. We thank God for both of you each day and, as we've said before, you will never know how much you are loved! Teri & Paul

We want you to know that you are in our constant prayers at Lone Oak. We live in Metropolis and are close with your parents. Mom visits with Laura when she can, so we stay updated regularly. We just wanted you to know that there is much love and prayers coming to you in all directions. God bless you all.

Dear Kevin, Cindy and boys,

I grew up at Montgomery and still have grandparents there. My husband and I want you to know that we pray for you all as often as we think of you. May you feel God's peace and presence each day.

Kevin,
Donna and I check regularly on you, Cindy, and the boys. We and our church continue to lift you all before the Lord for healing and grace.
Having been in a similar situation with my first wife, I think I know what might be on your mind. I can't tell you the number of times I asked God to remove the pain and suffering and cancer from her and give it to me. I would have gladly taken her place.
And then I remembered that someone who loved her more than I did, Jesus, DID take her place - in every way. So, as you have done, I placed her in Jesus' arms and was comforted to know the immensity of His love for her and that was receiving it.
You once used Cindy in a sermon, in which you said as she was holding a starving/injured child that she was holding Jesus. Now, she is the one being held and experiencing the face of Jesus in a whole new way.
My heart aches with you, my friend. Know that we are with you.
