Yesterday we had an interesting visit with our surgeon. While he was talking with us in the room he acknowledged his Christian convictions and told us "now" would be an especially key time to pray. In fact he said, "This would be a good time to get your congregation and Christian friends to beseech God." He said, "You know there is a lot to medicine and what we can do, but there is just something to prayer." Of course that is what we believe! It's not so much that we believe in the power of prayer but that we believe in the power of God and that power is accessed as we pray. (That will preach, Amen!) So please be praying that the chemotherapy is effective and we get positive results from the CAT scan the week following this round of chemotherapy.

Even as I am typing these words from Cindy's hospital room they are hooking her up to the pre-meds. She gets several medications before she actually receives the chemotherapy. No word yet on when we go home. Perhaps we will make it home following this round of chemo. For now we wait and we pray...

You are lifted up far more often than that pager is letting you know...I can't get to the phone often enough! On Wednesday nights we are studying the power of effective worship, beginning with addressing God by His many names. "The Great Physician" comes to mind in your case...and that has been my prayer for you, of course...that, and so much more. God is so many things to all of us...my prayer tonight is that He will continue to show you and everyone around you just how many "hats" He can wear...that He will continue to meet ALL your needs; to fill you up each day; to give you the strength and "where with all" to handle this...that He will be your Father, your Savior, and your Friend. Our hearts are with you...

Cindy,
Since I heard of your illness, I have been praying. I am broken-hearted that you are facing this. I pray that God will heal you, strengthen you and give you peace and also do the same for your entire family. My love, thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so glad that your surgeon is a praying man. I am praying for you during my regular prayer time, but I can't even count the times during the day I stop and ask God to take care of you...Hey Cindy, I had a funny thought this morning. Do you remember when Jake hid your keys? Well, he has his learner's permit and I'm teaching him to drive, so when you get better you're invited to come and hide his keys!! I love you, Kristi

Cindy and Kevin,
Even though it's been years since we've seen you, we've always felt close to you in heart. You're very special to us. We're praying fervently for your healing, Cindy and specifically that we will SEE those results in the CAT scan. We're also praying for God to grant strength and courage to both of you (and your family) as you go through chemo. Know you're loved and prayed for constantly.

Love,
Kevin and Chris Lynxwiler

From a friend of a friend! . . . Just to let you know that the church in Raytown, MO is praying for Cindy and your family as well. We believe that God hears our prayers and answers them according to His will. We have seen Him use us in ways we never could have imagined but always to His glory!

Isn't it a blessing when those caring for our physical bodies willingly acknowledge the Creator of those bodies. I know it gives me added comfort to know that my doctor and my kids' doctor believe that God is the One who can heal, and not the doctor. That He gives knowledge to them. I am thanklful you have that blessing through this struggle. May all of the prayers for you be heard by our God, and may He in His glorious wisdom make this not just tragic suffering, but an amazing demonstration of His love and His power. Of the difference between living a life of faith, and just living a life.

It's so refreshing when the healers acknowledge the true Great Physician! All too often, we medical professionals tend to forget the power of the Almighty, and instead become bound by what we consider to be scientific fact. But God is faithful! And He answers the prayers of those who call out to Him, and our prayers are that Cindy is completely healed. God can do what He says He can do! AMEN!

Love you all,
Kim Scott

Cindy & Kevin

We have several friends who have gone through an experience similiar to yours. In the initial conversations 6 - 7 years ago, they were given 6 months to live.

I told them about a simple discovery by a German Doctor. The blood of a cancer patient is tinted green. This is caused by a lack of enyzmes in the blood. They can be replaced by eating cottage cheese and flax seed oil. The flax seed oil needs to be fresh. It has a defined shelf life so refrigeration is necessary. It can be obtained in many forms but in this case taking it in liquid form seems best.

Our friends wife is still with him. Of course, having the prays from the congretation at the Prattville Church of Christ, Prattville, AL was instrumental.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
