The Steadfast Love of the Lord

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21

This morning at about 4:15 a.m., Cindy walked into the arms of Jesus. Kevin and Rob (her brother) had been sitting with her all night, praying and reading scripture to her. Chase, Reid, and Trey spent the night near her, too, and she was able to share some special time with them.
Her parents, Bob and Barbara, were close by as well. She truly was surrounded by what was most special to her on this earth, her family. She had so much to live for on this earth, and while it was not our choice for her to leave us at this time, we trust in our Father, who is all knowing and ever faithful. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases.

Kevin will be making arrangements this afternoon and I will communicate them with you as soon as possible. The family is setting up a trust fund for the boy's education and are asking that, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent for the fund. More details regarding this will be posted, as well. Thank you for your continued prayers for our family.

"And so we will be with the Lord forever."

-I Thessalonians 4:17

I used to always read I Thessalonians 4, searching for clues as to what will happen at the end of the age. But Paul's real point here is the idea of togetherness. "And so we will be with the Lord forever." It's not that you will be with the Lord and I'll be up there too. No. What he is getting at is the idea that "we" will be with each other and the Lord...forever. That "we" includes all of us. Paul instructs us to encourage one another with these words. Are there any more encouraging words than these? Death may have a word, but it won't be the last word. Praise God!

-Joel

Our hearts are so heavy at this time while at the same time they are filled with joy to know that Cindy is free of bodily pain. Oh to imagine the joy that Cindy must have felt to have looked upon the face of Christ this morning.

We have been in continuious prayer for months and we will continue to pray for strength and peace for those of you who loved her so.

What a blessing you and Cindy have been in our lives for years. You are so loved.

Our hearts are overflowing with sadness, and yet, we know that Cindy's is joyous because she is with the Lord at the very beginning of her "forever". One of the writers here recently pictured her running into the arms of the Savior with her beautiful big smile. That smile would light up a room! Many, many memories are rushing through my mind, and make me so thankful to have had her in our lives.
Our prayers and love continue to be with you all.

Kevin, Chase, Reid, Trey and family.

Christ Jesus, may we find in you comfort in our sadness, certainty in our doubt, and hope amid the sorrow of this hour.

Jesus Christ, firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep, you are risen from the dead and can die no more. You sit at the right hand of the Father where you intercede for us. Hear my prayers for Cindy. In baptism she first was washed clean and filled with your light. Lead her over the waters of death, scatter the darkness and bring her to eternal light. Welcome her and give her a place at your heavenly banquet. Give her refreshment, rest, and peace. Heal the pain of all who mourn her passing from this life, especially Kevin, Chase, Reid and Trey. Strengthen our hope that we may await your Son's coming again in glory with courage. Grant us all a place in your everlasting kingdom. In Jesus' name amen.

Beating of hearts

The beating of hearts is the life force within us,
To guide us, as one, through impassible ways.
With hands of fire, yet gentle as snow,
The beating of hearts is God letting us know.

The beating of hearts brings us to the weak,
It cures and it heals those who cannot themselves.
And as we gather round that link in our chain,
The beating of hearts will rejuvenate again.

His breath is our comfort, his word is our shield,
And only through He can our peace be attained.
One would believe, and God would save,
Through Jesus, the end is no longer the grave.

In times of woe, times such as this,
The threads that tie us are stronger yet.
The beating of hearts reminds us we will not sever,
So long as we believe we are in this together.

To Cindy's family,
Our hearts are hurting for the loss of our beloved sister. We have been praying for her for what seems a long while. We will choose to rejoice in the fact that she has found peace. In the midst of our search for understanding, God says, "BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD". We belong to HIM, We live to be with HIM, We await HIS coming, and now Cindy has the wonderful joy of being in His presence comforted and completely whole. We love you all,

God Only Takes The Best

God saw that she was getting tired,
and a cure was not to be,
So He put his arms around her,
and whispered, "Come with me."
With tearful eyes He watched her suffer
and saw her fade away.
Although we loved her dearly,
We could not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

Kevin, Chase, Reid, and Trey. The pain is beyond our knowledge and am so very grateful for the time that we had to spend with you all and Cindy. Cindy was such a wonderful inspiration to me and I will always be grateful to her for her dedication and courage. Quiet spirit of Christ and the love for her life and all those who touched it. She was such an encouragement to me in moving to a strange place and making it home. We love you guys and just don't know what to say, but God keep you in his arms now and forever. Jacob and Andrew want to write to Chase so they will when they can find the words as they are having a very difficult time understanding how the boys much feel to know that their mom isn't there anymore. We cry with you. We hurt with you and most of all we greive with you. Tight hugs are sent from Kansas. Frank, Cindi, Jacob, and Andrew Kroh.

TO THOSE I LOVE AND THOSE WHO LOVE ME

When I am gone, release me, let me go – I have so many things to see and do. You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears. Be happy that we had our years.

I gave you my love. You can only guess How much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you have shown, but now it’s time I traveled on alone.

So grieve for me a while if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It’s only for a while that we must part. So cherish the memories within your heart.

I won’t be far away, for life goes on. So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near. And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear
all my love around you soft and clear.

And, then, when you must come this way alone,I’ll greet you with a smile, and say, “Welcome home.”

Kevin, someone gave this poem to me when my mom died from cancer. It has been a comfort through the years.

I couldn't sleep early this morning and started praying for Cindy, you, the boys, Bob and Barb. I didn't know that while I was praying that God took Cindy home.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you.

For the Owen and Terrell families and all who knew Cindy, we are so very sorry for your loss. Cindy was a former student of mine (Dave) and more importantly, friend. Cindy was truly an ANGEL called home by GOD. For what reason, we do not know, but hard as it is, we have to trust in the LORD. GOD, please bless us all and help Cindy's family and friends in this time of unbearable sadness, in the name of our SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, we pray.

Dear Kevin, Chase, Reid, Trey and family,

My heart is heavy with pain and sorrow at your loss today. I knew the end was near, but when I got the news yesterday, my heart broke for everyone who loved Cindy. There are so many of us who have been touched by Cindy and will never be the same again.

Kevin, you too have profoundly touched us, especially on this difficult journey. Your love for Cindy shone like a beacon in all of your updates. What a testament to the blessings that marriage brings to those that love the Lord! God has truly worked through you and Cindy during this time.

My thoughts and cares have been on your precious three boys for so long, but never as much as the past two days. Cindy loved her boys and I know she fought for the chance to watch them grow up. I too have three boys and Cindy and I had many conversations about how blessed we were to be raising boys! Mine are older, but when I watched Cindy with Chase, Reid, and Trey, it brought back precious memories of when my boys were young. Anyone who is raising boys knows that they keep you on your toes when they are young! Cindy and I would share "war" stories of their escapades, sometimes laughing and sometimes just shaking our heads at what they had done! Since my boys were older I would let her know that "this too shall pass" and then share the joy I have now in the relationship I share with Dustin, Kyle and Travis as they've gotten older. My heart mourns for the loss of that precious time for both Cindy and her precious boys. I know that she will be watching over Chase, Reid, and Trey and that they will find comfort in that knowledge as they grow older.

May God bless you in your time of need.

In Christ and with love,

Anne Marie Van Horn

We are jealous as Cindy is there and we are still here. One day we will all meet again and join with all the angles and saints singing Alleluia,Alleluia,Alleluia,Alleluia,he is risen.

Kevin, Chase, Reid, Trey, Mr. and Mrs. Terrell, Rob, Family and Friends,

Cindy was a wonderful Christian lady that I will never, ever forget. I thank God that I was given the opportunity to know her and to be blessed by it. We lifted all of you in prayer this morning at our ladies' retreat service. At times the tears would fall, yet there would be a slight smile on my face because I knew that from heaven, she was smiling down on all of us. God be with each of you as you grieve this tragic loss of one of the kindest people I've ever known.
