Tomorrow is a big day for us as we are going in at 11:30 to do another CAT scan. I am asking that you pray fervently and specifically that the remaining cancer will be totally gone. Wouldn't that be awesome! I know that is bold, but we have a big God who does amazing things when we ask. So, once again I am asking that you continue partnering with us in this endeavor. Today Cindy woke up with fever. Her Oncologist prescribed some pretty powerful antibiotics yesterday. The medicine itself will make a person sick. Earlier today she was having difficulty keeping her food down. I am praying that her fever will be gone by tomorrow and she will begin to rebound. As always, thanks for remembering us. Kevin

Dear Cindy, Kevin, Barbara and all others in your family (which includes a lot of us!!). We intend to have a special prayer in our worship here tomorrow morning, and pray the tests will show that, as good as your doctors have been, they can't come close to our Great Physician.
Cindy, continue to have the faith in the Father you have always had. I love you very much sweetie, and wish I could be there for you, but know that my heart and my prayers are with you, now and always. Linda
Hey Kevin and Cindy,
Just wanted to let you know that we'll be praying for you.

Thanks Linda, Joel, Jim and Bev. I am praying that we will have more good news of great joy to report in the next few days.
Your fellow struggler,
Kevin
Kevin,
Just because the doctors have given up hope does not mean that we will. God does not need chemotherapy to heal. Personally, I think it's hard for Him to be glorified when so many are looking to the chemotherapy as the effective agent. Let everyone turn to God completely now. It is easy for Him to heal. Let us all have real faith. Let us all commit to righteousness living and fervent prayers that the prayers will be effectual.
Remember when Hezekiah turned his face to the wall (Isa.38). Remember Abraham who hoped against all hope (Rom.4:18). Remember when the Isrealites had felt doomed being surrounded by Philistines and a boy with faith came and changed their outlook completely. Remember the Jews situation during the time of Esther when they had a decree of death written against them and God used the faith of Esther to save them from that death that seemed so sure. Remember Paul who had a "sentence of death" written against him in 2Cor.1:9 and what happened there. There are hundreds of other examples. I hope you'll find them and share them with your family.
Of course what God can do and what God will do are different things. We cannot pull his strings, so to speak. Thank God! He is all wise and we are not. We don't understand many of the things He allows but one thing we do know is that we can trust Him. "He who did not spare his own son, how will He not also give us all things."
You have said something like "Though God slay me..." God is definitely glorified in the persistence of your faith and that of your precious Cindy through these very difficult times. Many people are seeing that this Christianity is real, allowing people like yourselves to be hopeful, faithful, peaceful, not bitter, not impatient, not frustrated...... during the most difficult of times. When the devil says to God that Kevin and Cindy only trust in the "good times" and they will fall away if Cindy's health is taken. God and everyone else can say, NO that is not true. They have real faith. They trust God no matter what. And they will bless God, not curse, even if the seemingly worst possible thing happens. God is glorified, your faith is true, your faith is stronger than ever, you will be able to minister to others in ways never before thought possible, your children will forever remember this experience.
We pray for a complete healing, especially for you and the children. We accept whatever God allows. We trust in His wisdom and care.
your brother in Christ,
Erick Richter
P.S. My father and brother died "early" of cancer and my mother "early" of a heart attack. I will see them soon and our reunion will be sweet.
